Book Worm

This piece (from an edition of 6) was created for the White Heat exhibition at the KALEID gallery on Redchurch St, London E2, in June 2010. It features a character that falls into the book and travels in amongst the physical book and escaping from the back.

This was originally an idea I had for a children's book and I still intend to work on that idea. I love the idea of a character interacting with typography and I look forward to playing with lettering to make some imagery for this project sometime - hopefully soon!

Hellicar & Lewis, a duo of interactive installation artists, created a light piece that interacted with the exhibits in this show using infrared technology. A video of the result can be seen here:

More Monsters...

Using typography

Here are some examples of pictures I've created using type as part of the image. I love letterpress!

Monsters

I have also been working on some pictures of monsters recently. I am thinking to put them together into a book. It is still an evolving idea at the moment.

Citizen Caine

Here is a picture from a recent etching course I did. I was quite pleased with the outcome having not etched for over a decade. Etching is fun, time consuming and dangerous. The best kind of art perhaps!
